Council upholds firing, names Murphy to CAPC
In another extended session, the Eureka Springs City Council gave first readings to ordinances covering noise, sidewalks, special events, reinstating the city clerk's job to full-time; appointed a new commissioner for the City Advertising and Promotion Commission (CAPC) and heard proposed changes in the definition of "gift shops' for the CAPC Monday evening.

Arvest robbed Saturday morning
One man walked into the Eureka Springs Arvest Bank on Highway 62/23 south Saturday morning, presented a note to the teller and walked out with approximately $1,400 in cash in the first "live" bank robbery here in many years.

Round House named for 2004 AAIA award
Johnson Troillett Architecture of Eureka Springs has been named for an Honor Design Award for the renovation of The Round House on North Main.

HISID considers assessment, amenity increases to ease budget woes
The Holiday Island Suburban Improvement District (HISID) will not have a "balanced" budget in 2005, but at least it will be able to stay close to its hoped-for projected loss, if the Board of Commissioners implements changes discussed at Friday's budget work session.
