Four file for council, none for school board Four candidates for Eureka Springs City Council have turned in their nomination petitions to Carroll County Clerk Shirley Doss. As of 1:45 p.m. Monday, there were still no candidates for Eureka Springs School Board. Incumbent Steve Hamblin was circulating his petition at last week's school board meeting. Sara Setzer was absent. James DeVito, restaurant owner, and Lori Weaver, housewife, have filed as candidates in Ward 2 for Position 1. Beverly Blankenship, co-owner of a furniture store, filed for Position 1 in Ward 3 and Terrence McClung filed for Position 2. There are a total of six seats open on the council, two in each ward. Candidates must reside in the ward they wish to represent, but are elected at-large. Filing closes at noon Wednesday. City council members serve two-year terms and are currently paid $2,400 per year.
